Over the past decades many students have been educated in the Methodist Schools in the Hyderabad Conference of the Methodist Church in India. Dr. A. V. Samuel and his wife, Vailpula Sucharitha (Suchi), are two such people who had the opportunity to have rewarding careers because of the educational start they received through the Methodist Church. As mentioned earlier, Sam served as an Associate Professor at the Agricultural University of Andhra Pradesh, while Suchi served as a teacher and principal at theDomestic
Science Polytechnic Training College in Hyderabad, A.P. Out of gratitude for the benefits they have received, Sam and Suchi and their extended family are providing scholarships for over 50 children from the Christian village of Metlakunta to attend Chandrakal Methodist School in Andhra Pradesh.
Dr. and Mrs. A. V. Samuel are now inviting others to join them in making it possible for the next generation of village children to obtain a similar educational start in their lives. They are especially appealing to those who have benefited from being educated in the Methodist schools of the Hyderabad Conference. However, their request extends to anyone who is interested in helping children in need in this humanitarian effort to raise scholarship funds.
